Yannis is an excellent photographer who has the ability to relate, cater for and understand his audience very quickly. Not only are his photographs of a high quality but he makes the process of taking them fun and unobtrusive. Yannis showed us corners of Chania we would never have seen without him, nor would we have known that they hold the background for the best photographs. I'm Yannis, a photographer based in Chania, Crete. I know the spots where golden hour turns the Venetian walls warm amber. I know the quiet alleys in the Old Town that still feel undiscovered. And I know how to help you relax, forget about the camera and enjoy the walk.
I've been behind the lens since 2016, photographing weddings, baptisms, couples and families. Today I bring that experience into relaxed vacation photoshoots around Chania.
Every photograph you receive is selected and edited personally by me. I don't outsource my editing or run everything through one preset, and I don't hand over hundreds of near-identical frames. I choose the strongest photographs, then give each one individual attention.
That's me with my own wife and children. I photograph romance and family for a living, and I still chase the same light for the people I love most.

Questions people ask
How much does a photoshoot in Chania cost?
From €199 for a 45–60 minutes session with 25+ carefully selected and individually edited photographs. Chania Story is €299, Large Family Story is €399, and a surprise proposal starts at €299.
How many photographs will we receive?
At least 25 carefully selected photographs on the standard experiences, 30+ on Chania Story and 35+ on Large Family Story. I photograph freely during the session and then choose the strongest frames, so some galleries naturally contain more. What I will not do is hand over hundreds of near-identical photographs.
How long is a session?
Most sessions are 45–60 minutes. Chania Story and Large Family Story are around 90 minutes.
Where do you photograph in Chania?
Mostly in the Venetian Old Town and around the harbour, on the beach at Agia Marina, and at other agreed locations around Chania. I live here, so if you have somewhere in mind, ask.
Do we have to choose the photo spots ourselves?
No, and you shouldn't have to. Tell me the atmosphere you like and I plan the route on the day around the light, the crowds, the weather and how the session is actually going. Knowing where to stand at six in the evening in August is my job, not yours.
Are the photographs AI generated?
No. Every photograph is a real moment, photographed by me, of you, in a real place in Chania. I select and finish each image personally. No stock photography, no AI-generated people, no invented locations.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If conditions make the photoshoot unsuitable, we arrange another time at no extra cost. If I'm unable to photograph your session, your booking fee is refunded.
How do we reserve our date?
A €50 booking fee secures the date and is included in the total price. The balance is paid on the day. The fee is non-refundable if you cancel, because the time has been held for you, but I'm happy to move your session once where availability allows.
When will we receive our photographs?
Normally 3–5 business days. Next-day priority delivery is +€69 if you're leaving soon or want them while you're still on the island.
How many people are included?
Up to 4 people are included. For 5 to 7 people it's +€25 per additional person. For 8 or more, the Large Family Story is designed for you.
